Found Cats And Kittens
All cats and kittens brought into The Pawphanage as strays by members of the public are held for seven days, giving an owner time to come forward and claim them.
During this seven day period they’re advertised on our website, our social media, and on the LostPet website. If they remain unclaimed after this, they go through our usual process to get them adoption ready.
Reclaiming A Cat?
- If you are reclaiming your cat, please bring a form of photo ID, any proof of ownership you may have, and a secure carrier (we will not release a cat to travel unrestrained).
- If The Pawphanage has incurred any veterinary fees for your cat, these will need to be reimbursed before their release.
- We recommend microchipping your cat before taking them home. A microchip can be implanted and NZCAR registered for you at a one-off cost of $25.
